Backups and other matters.

This page describes the does and dont's on the fontysvenlo server.

What we provide

We provide the space and the server.
The following directories (and it's content) are backed up by a daily rsync script.

• /home/<grpname>/public_html: The directory for your web public presence. It will be served to the outside world as http://<grpname>.fontysvenlo.org
• /home/<grpname>/private_html: The directory for your web internal web presence. It will be served to the outside world as https://www.fontysvenlo.org/<grpname>. The public and private website are different, although cross-linking is allowed.
• /home/<grpname>/cvsroot: The CVS repository. The use of this CVS server as the main repository is compulsory.

The stuff is mirrored onto a server within the FTHV. Other stuff is not backed up. If you think you need other backups, provide them yourselves.

What is allowed

You should use this server for all infomation relevant to your project. (Provided the disc space is sufficient). All other use is forbidden. This machine is a shared service. Sharing means being nice to one another. Keep that in mind.
